I’d like to recommend Chrom-Matrix PEG column for metabolism studies. We first used the column as a normal phase and found that it has an excellent separation power for structural isomers. Also, the column was very fast to reach an equilibrium. Then following to the recommendation from Chrom-Matrix, we also got success to determine absolute recoveries of the compound and its major metabolites via RP-HPLC radioactive assays when the urine samples are directly into the PEG HPLC column.

I give Chrom-Matrix 100Å C18 column a very high evaluation. Originally we used a Zorbax C18 column (Dupont method) to validate a GLP HPLC method for the formulation analysis. Unfortunately, the peaks are distorted due to low capacity from Agilent column. The problem was solved when we switch the column to Chrom-Matrix C18.

Our group developed a satisfactory LC-MS/MS method for the PK study of fluoroquinolones such as WCK 1152 and orbifoxacin using Chrom-Matrix ZW&A C18 5um 5cm x 2.1mm HPLC columns. Strange and/or distorted peak shapes were frequently observed with other columns we had tried.
